January was a crazy month. We traveled to Idaho for Jackie's wedding reception there. We were lucky to have Garrick's sister, Kendra, and her family stay the night with us on their way back to Florida. The rest of the month was filled with more trips. Garrick had consulting trips to Louisville, Minnesota, and St. George, UT (we joined him on that one). Then he had another trip to St George for a conference. We all went to San Diego the last weekend in January, and Garrick flew back early Mon morning to travel down to that St George conference. We all met up on Wed night. Whew. What a month! Here are a few pictures:
St George was a welcome change to the weeks-long-freezing-cold inversion we had been having in UT county. The sky was clear. The sun was out. It was still a bit chilly, but to us, 45 or 50 degrees was warm enough to enjoy the red rocks and do a little hiking.
My little troopers. I was a little worried about keeping them busy while Garrick was in a conference all day, but we went to story time at the library and then to Snow Canyon for some fun hikes. We also spent a morning at Jumping Jacks, and the kids really enjoyed that.
Notice those nice top teeth. They are now a thing of the past. But, we like his smile either way.
This was the part where she had to do some hiking by herself. Too bad
it was in the shade. I was in a hurry to get back into the sun!
There are some pioneer names carved into the rock up there. I should have zoomed into the picture so you could see them, but I didn't. I think they were from the 1800s.
This guy loves to explore.
This is one of my favorites. :)
Enjoying the hot tub at my sister's new house in CA. It wasn't too warm out, but the hot tub was hot! We even got rained on a bit, and that was ok.
We had a lot of fun with the Joneses. Sadly, we didn't get the 70 degree weather that they had been having, but 50's and 60's was still an improvement for us. It was nice enough to take a couple of trips to the park. We went to the park the day that we left, and I remember wishing that I had flip flops on. Aaahhh, I'm excited for spring!
